Ordered a tongue and groove gate for a client and found the company a pleasure to work with. The bespoke product was a doddle to fit as it was millimeter perfect and incredibly sturdy. Delivery was cheap and swift and the clients are over the moon with the quality. I have bought gates and doors from many other outlets and found Dickson's the best value by far with super friendly and helpful staff.

Went to the service desk at the yard ,Ordered some composite decking paid close to two thousand pound for it. Was told that if we needed to bring any back we could as long as we had a receipt and the decking was in good condition. We had 5 lengths spare so we rented a van and took the day off work. I rang on the day we were bringing it back to be told again that they would gladly take the decking back. We live nearly a hour away.We were then rang 5 minutes before we got there to be told we could not bring it back. Wen I rang the timber yard up the staff were Very rude to me and would not listen to me as all I was saying was why was I told on two occasions that I could bring the spare decking back as long as I had a receipt . the person I spoke to said he was the manager ,but he was shouting and would not let me explain why I was a bit upset that we had rented a van and taken the day off work to get the decking to there yard. We ordered the decking from there yard in person to then be told we had to take it back to there supplier in Manchester which is hours away. Very bad customer service and would not advise using the timber yard.

We have been very impressed with the new set up and the direction Ben,his partner & team are taking the Company. Following the storm of Friday of last week(17/2/23), our garden fence blew down, we contacted Dickson's, and despite a power cut that meant all their systems were down, they took the order, delivered it 1st thing the next day, and were happy to wait for me to pay them when the power to their premises had been restored.Excellent customer service so I cannot recommend them highly enough.

It's not often that companies go above and beyond to help customers and give them truly personal service, so Ben and the team deserve recognition for this. In such a busy time they were able to supply me with everything that I needed for a big landscaping project and despite being extremely busy they were able to get me my materials ahead of schedule and at a great price. The boss, Peter I think his name is, is the RUDEST person I've ever met. He has no customer service skills, f's and blinds at you and just makes the whole experience terrible. I've spent £thousands over a number of years there yet on the last couple of occasions I've been subjected to anger, rudeness and the worst service. The staff are great, Peter is not. I will not be going back. Oh if you are unfortunate enough to frequent PM Dickson, don't ask Peter to cut anything for you, unless you want to be "charged for his time" or you're happy with odd lengths and shoddy cutting!!! DO NOT BUY FROM HERE.

What a great local company to deal with.Just taken delivery of a large order of Concrete fence posts, gravel boards and feathered edge fence panels. This company beat several other local companies on price, service and delivery time.Ben was realy helpfull on what quantities we needed so we didn't over order and also reccomended contractors who are coming to erect the fence to which i will add another review on their workmanship very soon. PM Dickson highly reccomend.

I was surprised to read Tracy Howard's review because I have dealt with Peter Dickson and his son Ben on and off for over 5 years and always found them reliable and professional in their business dealings. Peter is certainly 'direct' but I would never describe him as rude or obnoxious. I'm just in the process of ordering some fencing and a small cabin and they have been more than helpful.

Placed our first order for approx £700 with no problems, fast delivery etc. When we later phoned to place an order for a few extra bits he was extremely rude saying that he had already delivered to us twice before (which we had paid delivery costs for) and implied that he really didn't want to be bothered with smaller orders. Think he is missing the point that businesses thrive on repeat customers and recommendations and that no matter how busy you are, there really is no excuse for being rude and obnoxious! Needless to say order was cancelled and placed with Knox Sawmills.
